GENERAL GUIDELINES

WHO CAN ENTER
The competitions are open to all photographers, national and international, except Center employees, board members, advisory council members and contest sponsors.

ELIGIBLE WORK
Work derived from all photographic processes, both traditional and digital, are accepted, as well as mixed media work that is photo-based. Both fine art and documentary photography are welcomed. Work that has been published in book-length form by a photographic publishing house or university press is not eligible for the Project Competition. Previous winners of the Project Competition may not enter again with the same body of work.

PREPARING YOUR SUBMISSION

REVIEW SANTA FE and PROJECT COMPETITION
Please submit twenty prints or digital files demonstrating one cohesive body of work per entry; an artist statement and a completed online entry form.

SINGULAR IMAGE
A single entry cannot include both black and white and color photographs. To submit to both categories, please enclose your submissions as separate entries. Each submission may include up to 10 images.

ARTIST'S STATEMENTS
The first sentence of the artist statement should include a short synopsis of the project. Please limit the statement to a single page, double-spaced, and indicate the process or medium used and the final exhibition size, ex. 8x10 black and white negative, 20x24 gelatin silver prints or 35mm slides. Please structure your page as follows:

Statement

PRINTS
All print submissions must be labeled on the back of each print stating your name, project title, and print title. Paper size limit is 8.5x11” anything larger will be disqualified. All submissions must fit into an envelope no larger than 9” x 12” or a standard FedEx letter.

Entries will only be returned on request with appropriate pre-paid shipping and packaging. US Postal Service labels that include dates will not be returned.

Note: Do not staple, paper clip or tape any of the materials together. Websites, books, posters, exhibition announcements, and resumes will not be reviewed.

DIGITAL FILES
All images must be uploaded through our website after payment has been received. Files must be in jpeg format, fit to 1000 pixels on the long side at 72 dpi. There is a 500k limit to the size of each image to be uploaded. Use a jpeg quality level of 80 or high. Do not check the progressive jpg or optimized checkbox. If you follow these guidelines, the size of your images will typically fall between 100-500k. Each image must be submitted as a separate file (no Powerpoint or iPhoto presentations). Please save images as RGB, ICC profile Adobe RGB (1998) or Grayscale, ICC profile Dot Gain 20%. The process for uploading files requires no special software.

LIABILITY
While the utmost care will be taken in handling all entries, Center and contest sponsors will not be responsible for damaged, lost or unclaimed entries, or for the return of unlabeled images or entries without return postage. Photographers desiring to insure their work must make their own arrangements. International submissions are welcome but will not be returned. International winners are responsible for duties and shipping of the prizes.

Center reserves the right to reproduce all winning work in announcements, catalogs, the website and publications that report on or promote the competitions. Submission of an entry to this competition signifies acceptance of all conditions stated.
